A few days ago, I went to the farmers market with my two children. Afterwards, I sat on the bench to breastfeed the baby, and my daughter was playing around me picking up sticks and stones. My mind was busy, thinking about getting home, and also I was texting my husband about something. In the midst of my busy, quiet thinking, I suddenly realized my daughter is trying to get my attention. "I have a buzz buzz mommy! See! Look! It's a buzz buzz!" my daughter excitedly tells me. I look down at her hands to see what she is eagerly trying to tell me, and there pinched in-between her fingers is a dead bee.
I burst into laughter.
She reminds me so much of myself as kid. I too played with bugs, even dead bugs. I was endlessly curious, just like her, about the world around me.
